In the Big Dope system
Big Dope
Great orb of desires
Celestial bodies swirl your way
Swaying to perceived fires
Fiending for a single ray
You signal across the void
Suggestions of habitability
A crowd kept deployed
in motions of futility
The order of us from the distance of you
Predicates your system on want
We yearn to be atmosphere blue
but it’s a mirror surface you flaunt
Claim you can give in abundance
But what do you have to spare?
Your spin is a redundance
The glamour of a false flare
Heed this broadcast from an ice giant
Your pull weakens with each rotation
Dwarves are growing defiant
Nearing a mass migration
All I have known is the bleak sky
Emanating in contrast to others
Deadlocked I could only standby
As gravity smothers
Nearing interstellar space
there’s beauty to the float
Ease, outside the race
Calm, devoid of astral bloat
Little star
Perhaps I have been brash
Not to simply orbit endlessly –
into you I wanted to crash
Bang Big and tremendously
I was just another satellite
Showered by your planet pleasing
There was no intended spite
but ask yourself who you’re appeasing
Be hospitable to life
Position bodies at the right distance
On meteors I grate my strife,
voyaging toward coexistence
I need not be my own sun
Nor seek another leash
A new boundary can be spun
beyond this galactic pastiche
